Photoshop Tutorial – Bloody Veins Text

In this tutorial we’ll create a Bloody Veins Text Effect:

1. Start by making a new file with the Width=1024 and Height= 768.

2. Go to Filter->Render->Clouds.

3. Using the type tool with Arial Black bold font and a size of 380 write your text, I will write AND.

4. Select the text layer, then Ctrl+Click on the text layer thumbnail to select the text contour, then delete the text layer.

5. With the clouds layer selected Go to Select->Feather and set a feather radius of 8.

6. Go to Filter->Render->Difference Clouds and press Ctrl+F two times to reapply the filter then press Ctrl+D to deselect.

7. Go to Filter->Stylize->Glowing Edges and use this settings:

8. Go to Filter->Artistic->Plastic Wrap and use this settings:

9. Go to Layer->New Adjustments Layer->Levels and use this settings:

10. Go to Layer->New Adjustments Layer->Color balance and use this settings:

  • Shadows: (+86) (+16) (+43)
  • Midtones: (+62) (+13) (-56)
  • Highlights: (+100) (+10) (-32)

11. Select the background layer(the layer with the veins) and Go to Filter->Render->Lighting Effects and use the settings from the image bellow:

The final result should look like the one bellow:
